• Program Policies & Code of Conduct

    The Working Actor Masterclass (WAM) is a professional, immersive training environment designed to support artistic growth, collaboration, and real-world industry readiness. All participants are expected to uphold the following policies to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive experience for everyone involved.

    By registering for WAM, you agree to abide by these policies.

    1. Professional Conduct & Respect

    WAM is a collaborative, professional space. Participants are expected to treat all fellow actors, instructors, guest artists, directors, crew members, and staff with respect at all times.

    This includes:

    • Respecting differences in experience, identity, background, and perspective
    • Communicating thoughtfully and constructively
    • Listening actively and responding professionally
    • Refraining from harassment, discrimination, or harmful behavior of any kind

    Disrespectful, disruptive, or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated.

    2. Commitment & Participation

    WAM is an intensive program. Participants are expected to:

    • Arrive on time and prepared for all scheduled activities
    • Engage fully and honestly in training, rehearsal, and filming
    • Communicate in advance if unavoidable conflicts arise

    While certain activities may be optional, a baseline level of presence, preparedness, and professionalism is required to ensure the integrity of the experience for the full cohort.

    3. Physical Boundaries, Consent & Safety

    WAM is committed to maintaining a safe environment.

    • Any physical interaction required for scenes or exercises will be discussed, choreographed, and agreed upon in advance
    • No intimate or unsafe physical contact will be required at any point
    • Participants may always decline or request adjustments without penalty
    • Accessibility needs, sensory considerations, or medical concerns should be communicated so appropriate support can be provided.

    4. Filming & Set Etiquette

    During filming days, participants are expected to adhere to professional set standards, including:

    • Arriving on time and ready to work
    • Keeping phones silent and minimizing distractions
    • Maintaining quiet when instructed (“quiet on set”)
    • Following directions from the director and production team

    Filming locations may function as both living and working spaces and should be treated with care and respect.

    5. Confidentiality & Intellectual Property

    All scripts, scenes, footage, workshop content, discussions, and materials shared during WAM are confidential.

    Participants agree to:

    • Not share scripts, class materials, or creative concepts without explicit permission
    • Respect the privacy and creative work of fellow participants
    • Use provided footage only as permitted for personal reels or professional use

    Unauthorized distribution of materials may result in removal from the program.

    6. Substance Use

    Participants are expected to arrive sober and ready to work for all training, rehearsal, and filming activities.

    • Smoking is not permitted in any indoor training or filming spaces
    • Responsible alcohol use may be permitted during designated social times only
    • Substance use is strictly prohibited prior to or during filming and training sessions
    • Safety and professionalism take priority at all times.

    7. Housing & Shared Spaces (If Applicable)

    For participants sharing housing provided or coordinated through WAM:

    • Respect shared spaces, cleanliness, and quiet hours
    • No unapproved guests
    • No entering private bedrooms or personal areas without invitation
    • Any damage to property must be reported immediately

    Participants may be held financially responsible for damages caused by negligence or misuse.

    8. Payments, Attendance & Removal

    • All payment plans must be completed according to the agreed schedule
    • Failure to meet payment obligations may result in removal from the program
    • WAM reserves the right to remove any participant whose behavior violates these policies or compromises the safety, integrity, or experience of others
    • Removal due to policy violations does not guarantee refunds.

    9. Communication & Problem Resolution

    Open communication is encouraged.

    If issues arise:

    • Bring concerns directly to Darius or designated staff as soon as possible
    • Allow space for resolution before escalation
    • Trust that concerns will be handled thoughtfully and professionally

    10. A Shared Commitment

    WAM exists to support collective growth, creative risk-taking, and professional development. These policies exist not to restrict artistry, but to protect the environment that allows it to thrive.
